Compare

Most plants don’t switch from a competitor. They switch from paper.

So here are two honest comparisons — against how you work today, and against the other software you’ll be shown. No named vendors, no rigged tick-boxes.

The real incumbent

The system you’re replacing probably isn’t software.

A binder at the line, a folder on a shared drive, a tab in the MES nobody opens, the operator everyone asks. They all work — that’s why they’re still there. Here’s where each one stops.

Comparing methods, not products — the MES column varies enormously. Ask yours the same six questions.

The vendor landscape

Five kinds of software get called “work instructions.”

They solve different problems. Here’s what each is good at — and why plants still choose us.

  • Document & SOP control systems

Good atcontrolled documents — revisions, approval routes, distribution and retention, familiar to quality and IT.

Why choose REWOA DMS can prove a document was published. It can’t prove a person understood the revision that was in force. We deliver video at the station instead of a PDF in a library — and the sign-off comes back with it.
  • Connected-worker suites

Good atbreadth — skills, shift comms, maintenance, safety and instructions under one login.

Why choose REWOBreadth costs depth. When instructions are one module of ten, you get slide authoring and a translated interface. Instructions are our entire product — with the audit-grade record underneath, and on-premise when IT requires it.
  • AI video-to-instruction tools

Good atspeed — film a task, get a drafted multilingual guide back in minutes.

Why choose REWOGenerating a guide is the easy part, and it gets cheaper every year. What doesn’t commoditise is everything after it: approval, version control, delivery from your MES, certification and an audit trail. They make documents. We run the system those documents live in.
  • AR & operator-guidance hardware

Good aterror-proofing one station — projected guidance, torque validation, camera pass/fail.

Why choose REWOAR content is authored station by station, in 3D, by a specialist — so it never scales past the few stations that justify the hardware, and it’s awkward to connect to the systems that should trigger it. A video guide is filmed by the operator, published plant-wide the same day, translated automatically and delivered from your MES. AR covers a station. We cover the plant.
  • MES & operations platforms

Good atexecution — orders, traceability, counts and machine data. The system of record for what was produced.

Why choose REWOAn MES proves the part was made. It has no way to prove the person was trained on the current method — and its instruction module was never designed for the operator. We’re the missing half, delivered on the MES’s own triggers, with no rip-and-replace and nothing for you to build yourself.

Evaluation

Eight questions worth asking. Including of us.

Our own answers are underneath. Ask the same of everyone on your list.

  • 01

    “Show me the audit view.”

Ourssign-off bound to the person, the revision and the timestamp — on an immutable trail, exportable for the auditor in front of you.

  • 02

    “Where does it run?”

Oursshared cloud, private cloud, or fully inside your own network. Security & Deployment →

  • 03

“What happens to the price when all 400 operators use it?”

Ourslicensed per production site, unlimited users. Rolling out to the whole floor doesn’t change the bill.

  • 04

“Can an operator who doesn’t read the local language follow it?”

Ours100+ languages with voiceover, generated from the same guide — not a second set of documents to maintain.

  • 05

“Who creates the content — and how long does one guide take?”

Oursthe people who do the job. Film it, build the steps, publish — no specialist authoring team, no 3D modelling.

  • 06

“Does this content also train people, or do we need an LMS too?”

Oursguides become courses, quizzes and certification. One authoring effort serves doing and learning — and the record can feed the LMS you already run.

  • 07

“Where exactly does the operator meet it?”

Oursa QR code at the station with no integration at all, or embedded in the MES they already have open.

  • 08

“Who will own this product in three years?”

Oursindependent and founder-led. This one product is the whole company — several better-known names have been acquired and absorbed since 2023.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is REWO an MES?
No. An MES records what was produced. REWO records how the work was communicated and understood — which instruction was in force, who was trained on it, who signed for it. We deliver on the MES’s triggers rather than replacing it.
Do we have to replace our document management system?
Your choice — both work. REWO can be the document system for your shop-floor content, with versioning, approvals and controlled revisions built in. Or it plugs into the DMS you already run: approved instructions and completed forms file straight back into it.
How is this different from an LMS?
An LMS trains people away from the line and stops there. In REWO the guide at the station and the course they were certified on are the same content — so when the method changes, the training changes with it.
We already have work instructions in our MES. Why add REWO?
Because that tab was built for whoever owns the system, not the operator using it. REWO sits alongside it and delivers on its work-order triggers — you replace the tab, not the system.
Do we have to start from scratch with our existing SOPs?
No. REWO works with PDFs too — bring the documents you already have, get the system running on them, then add video and visuals where they earn their place. It’s a migration, not a rebuild.
Isn’t an AI video-to-instruction tool enough on its own?
If you only need documents, possibly. The gap shows at the audit: generating a guide is the easy part — approval, versioning, sign-off and certification are the parts that take years to build.

Compare it against your own process.

Bring one instruction you already have — paper, PDF or whatever’s in the MES. We’ll show you the same thing captured, delivered and signed for.
